my wild frontier.

i remember going to hardware ranch as a little girl and its only taken let's see......almost three years now to get the drover up there. not because he didn't want to go but because we lead very busy lives and the ranch is only open a few days a week- during a couple months- and its a few hours away. so last week we finally made it. (mr. dog came too but he had to stay in the car because he loves elk almost as much as he love buffalo- i can just picture him running wild through the elk trying to herd them). the goal of hardware ranch is to feed the wintering elk so that they won't wander into lower valley and steal food from the farmers. now they turned it into a educational experience. come see the elk- learn a little about them- and protecting them- and take a sleigh ride out among them. annually they feed between four and six hundred elk daily. and the elk are free to come and go as they please but most stick around the whole winter for the free food. its a fun experience. to learn more click here

no he's not dead. although he looks to be. he's napping.
