This girl loves her daddy- just look at that stare!  

This little one is almost grown out of her newborn jammies! She's growing far too quickly- and before we move up to the next size of jammies i wanted to make sure we never forget just how cute she looked in these! Thus a PJ themed photoshoot! Oh Nova girl- please stay little forever! 

Most days while she naps I attempt to get something done (like actually shower or clean the house). Yesterday however the afternoon light was so dreamy an impromptu photoshoot took place all without her knowledge. While she peaceful slept I snapped away a few photos of her in my favorite frog hat- and a few of just that gorgeous hair. And as I sit here looking through these photos I can't help but feel so blessed to be her mom. 

This sweet little girl is 8 weeks old today. Time is going by far too quickly- she's becoming bright, alert and interactive. And while theres nothing that warms my heart more than watching that little face light up with a smile its all so bittersweet. She's growing and far too fast! I wish time would stand still so i can enjoy every little snuggle and smile this girl has to offer.

Sweet little Nova was a model for headbands and hats when she was just one week old! After all who wouldn't love all that dark hair! And guess what- it just keeps getting longer and longer!

These pictures were doomed from the start- in fact they were just kinda of an epic fail. Live and learn- i guess at this point its all about the memories. And by now i'm far too exhausted to be concerned with attempting any kind of retake. And so without further ado the 7 pictures i actually/sorta like. 

Little baby "N" (yes she has a name now- nope we aren't sharing yet) is due to make her debut in a little under two weeks- if not before then. Her room has been fun and challenging at the same time. I wanted something neutral and welcoming- nothing over the top- something that fit right into our home. And since its officially complete she is welcome to quit kicking my ribs and come anytime- anytime little one. 

By far my favorite thing about this room is this white wall- designed to look like an old wood farmhouse wall i couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out! 

In case you were wondering we will fill those frames with pictures of her once she arrives- but until then we are content with the photos we took to share the news of her arrival with our families. And the frame in the middle- thats my baby blanket- her name is pinky. It once was bright pink with sheep and now its grey and see-through. It makes me so happy to see it hanging on her wall. 

 the room is complete with one big brother whose patiently awaiting her arrival! (we secretly are praying he likes her- poor guy has no idea how badly his world is about to get turned upside down)! 

Truth be told i'm having a hard time with baby clothes. I like things neutral and basic (like her nursery- pictures coming soon). And baby girl clothes are anything but neutral and basic- they have stuff all over them!! I'm really struggling with all the pink flowers, animals, and disney characters etc. So lately I've been on the search for baby girl clothes that are simple. So in attempt to be creative I dyed some white onesies. They were super easy and I really like how they turned out.

What you need:

White cotton onesies (3 pack for $8.99 at target) 

Fabric Dye (Rit powder was $2.29 at the fabric store) 

Instructions: 

Fill your washing machine with HOT water- take the onesies of your choice (i choose one of each style and size to dye in each color) and get them wet with hot water. This is important to make sure the color spreads evenly. Before you put the onesies into the water mix the packet of dye into the hot water. Then drop (well carefully set so you don't get a huge splash) the onesies into the colored water. I let my sit in the water for 10 minutes before starting a normal wash cycle. Looking back I should have waited more like 30 minutes for the color to darken. After the wash cycle is done, run them through another cycle with cold water. I then ran them through one more cold water cycle with a tiny bit of laundry soap so that next time they are washed the colors won't bleed. And then they can ether be hung dry or put in the dryer. Simple enough. Now don't panic that your washing machine is a lovely shade of purple/green/blue. After your done dyeing the onesies just run an empty load on hot with a cup or so of bleach. And it will be sparkling new! 

Meet hornet. Named for his ummm horns. Some how this little creature ends up in my bed almost every night- courtesy of mr. dog of course. Nothing like discovering him at 3 in the morning when mass panic set in because theres something warm nestled right by your toes. Ahhh gotta love that boy! 

Things around here have been busy. Family events have kept us hoping around constantly the past few weeks. Weddings, births, mission farewells etc. Summer is defiantly in full swing. And preparing for this little lady to join our family has made things even busier! We been working away on her room- lots of pictures to come! And it only took like 4 trips to the store to finally come home with the crib we ordered. Now we are on the hunt for a suitable dresser- closer and closer. But the good news is that i think we've finally decided on a name- i think. 

Above all else we are spending our last few months enjoying sleeping in, relaxing, and spending time just the two (or three) of us. Boy- is mr. dog in for quite the shocker come December! We're not exactly sure how he is going to tolerate sharing all his attention with a little sister. It's gonna be mighty interesting around here. 

And finally a few pictures from our trip to flaming gorge. It's become the Drover's family tradition to spend a week every summer enjoying camping, relaxing, eating, and boating together. This year defiantly didn't disappoint- we soaked up every moment we could just enjoying being together. Because come next year this little camping trip is bond to get a whole lot more interesting with a little one in tow.   

These two make me so excited to have this little girl join our family- mr. dog loves baby mac and baby mac loves mr. dog. They spent lots of time playing in the water together- my favorite moment was when she gently leaned over and gave him a kiss on his nose. And then he gave her the littlest softest kiss on her cheek!
