Big day for a little girl and her mama! First piggy tails! Just further proof she's growing far too quickly!

Happy 4th of July

I cannot believe she is 6 months (ok actually almost 7) old! Half a year! Time is flying by far too quickly! Sometimes I still look down at her and can't believe i'm her mom! She has been such a wonderful blessing in our life! We love our sweet little, Nova! 

Little Miss Nova had her first big swim last weekend! She was very thoughtful about the whole thing- the first minutes she gave some very serious faces as if trying to figure it all out! For a few minutes she was perfectly content to float around in her daddy's arms then finally she started kicking those legs and enjoying the water! It's so fun to experience the world through a new pair of eyes. It amazes me how quickly they learn and grow! 

On a side note i'm guilty of using instagram to share our day to day events! But i've made a goal to use my "real" camera more often and therefore blog more. In the meantime time you can follow me on instagram here. 

After our wedding I had always dreamed of taking my wedding dress and making it into a blessing dress if we were lucky enough to have a little girl. Fast forward six years and my dream came true. My sweet aunt was kind enough to take apart my wedding dress and sew Nova a blessing dress. It turned out beautiful- the dress as made from the bottom half of my dress and she even transferred over some of the beading. Then I made a headband with some extra beading and dress material- she looked beautiful. She was given a wonderful blessing by her Daddy the first weekend in March. Afterwards we had breakfast at Grandma's for everyone who came to support us. I'm so thankful for this little girl. We are so grateful Heavenly Father trusted us with such a sweet little spirit. We feel so blessed that she is ours. 

Ah my two favorite little ones. They may look all warm and fuzzy together but here's the truth- he (meaning thome- the border collie) does not like Nova. I knew when we decided to have a baby this was one going to be quite a shock for him. After all he (as you can tell) has been the baby for the past six years. He has never been mean to her or acted an any way aggressive towards her but he basically wants nothing to do with her. And by nothing i mean basically ignores her- example: when you put her hand on him like she is petting him and he looks away. Take her hand off him and he looks back- this can go on and on like this for quite some time. She on the other hand already loves to watch him chase his toys and always smiles when she sees him! I had high hopes that it would be instant love but its not. And thats ok. We are working on it- I know as soon as she's a little more interactive and can throw this toys they will be best friends. It makes me so happy to think she will grow up with a sweet kind dog in her life. My childhood dog is one of my favorite and most cherished memories. But for now I'm just grateful he's a gentle sweet dog that will tolerate a few photos here and there.

This little one is almost grown out of her newborn jammies! She's growing far too quickly- and before we move up to the next size of jammies i wanted to make sure we never forget just how cute she looked in these! Thus a PJ themed photoshoot! Oh Nova girl- please stay little forever! 

Most days while she naps I attempt to get something done (like actually shower or clean the house). Yesterday however the afternoon light was so dreamy an impromptu photoshoot took place all without her knowledge. While she peaceful slept I snapped away a few photos of her in my favorite frog hat- and a few of just that gorgeous hair. And as I sit here looking through these photos I can't help but feel so blessed to be her mom. 

This sweet little girl is 8 weeks old today. Time is going by far too quickly- she's becoming bright, alert and interactive. And while theres nothing that warms my heart more than watching that little face light up with a smile its all so bittersweet. She's growing and far too fast! I wish time would stand still so i can enjoy every little snuggle and smile this girl has to offer.

Sweet little Nova was a model for headbands and hats when she was just one week old! After all who wouldn't love all that dark hair! And guess what- it just keeps getting longer and longer!
