"Free Willy" minus Willy.

"96% of our tours see whales!" Great we thought- thats such a high percentage that its almost a guarantee you'll see whales. Well somebody forgot to mention that the whales haven't quite showed up for the season yet! So after a 2 hour drive @ 6 a.m and a 1.5hr ferry ride and a 4hr boat trip i didn't get to free willy. Maybe some other time. Although the whales didn't make an appearance we did get to see some beautiful places and had a really fun day together.

Our large and quite ancient ferry is at the end of the dock! It was our first ferry ride ever! Lets just say i'm glad i'm not stuck on an island with the ferry as my only way off.

Friday Harbor Port! It was all i hoped it was going to be. Just how i imagined an old port town! It reminds me of an alaskan city.

Our great vessel the "Western Prince". Lucky for us neither one of us suffered any sea sickness. I was having nightmares about laying over the side of the boat, green in the face. Yuck!

Furthest North Western Point in the lower 48 states! Yep thats a working schoolhouse. Containing a total of 4 students!

Big horn sheep straight from africa??? Someone tried to create a hunting/big game ranch on a private island. The locals put a stop to it after the rumors of lions and tigers started circulating.

Not a whale. Its a daul dolphin. Cute little thing though. They would swim by the boat trying to get the boat to play with them. They looked like baby killer whales.

On the boat. Not seasick. Yeah for me!

p.s it was freezing for may. Could have used a snow hat and gloves.

This cute little guy has be-friended the fish lady at the dock and has decided to take up residence there. I wanted to hug him, he looked so soft and friendly.
